“Lacking its own ingenuity, the parasite fears the visionary. What it cannot plagiarise, it seeks to censor. What it cannot regulate, it seeks to ban.”
Irrational Games has announced that Bioshock Infinite will be on store shelves for the Xbox, PS3 and PC on October 19th! Gaming Guru and creator of the Bioshock series Ken Levine added, today that, “After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition, BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it.”
Beyond a complete new experience in a nifty floating city, Levine has added some new revolutionary game modes that are still ‘hush-hush.’ Paying homage to the gamers of the 90’s Levine has created a ‘1999 Mode’ for Bioshock Infinite. What can you expect in this retro flash-back? Levine explains:
“We want to give our oldest and most committed fans an option to go back to our roots. In 1999 Mode, gamers face more of the permanent consequences of their gameplay decisions. In BioShock Infinite, gamers will have to sweat out the results of their actions. In addition, 1999 Mode will demand that players pick specializations, and focus on them.”
What that means in terms of gameplay is still a mystery, but Levine went on to say that those who do brave the 1999 mode will be rewarded with ‘innumerable’ goodies!
Here’s a trailer to get you excited! ENJOY!
