Gears of War: Judgement was leaked on torrent sites everywhere last month and that kind of news might depress certain developers but not Epic Games apparently, saying that it’s “ultimately going to be a good thing” for the game.

When speaking to GameSpot at a London preview event for the game, lead level designer Jim Brown discussed how he sees the leak as a potential positive. “From my perspective, that tells me people are excited–that they want to get their hands on the game, which is a good thing, right?”

“I think that’s ultimately going to be good for us,” added Brown.

“I’m trying to look at it from the perspective of, ultimately, that if somebody is that interested that they feel the need to do that and risk their entire life, well, okay.”

Brown adds though that there are people at Epic Games who are upset about the leak but adds that Microsoft and Epic have “got it covered, it’s taken care of. Things are happening.”

Gears of War: Judgement will be out for the Xbox 360 March 19th, 2013.
