The company’s CFO has hinted at the existence of “a couple of new sports franchises” in the release pipeline.
While discussing EA’s future strategy at the Wedbush Technology Conference Blake Jorgensen spoke about where the company’s strengths lie, highlighting sports as a growing field.:
“For us, the big opportunities continue to be the FIFA franchise, the Battlefield franchise and then the core sports of Madden, NCAA, NHL…and possibly a couple of new sports franchises along that way. Clearly, that’s a big strength of the company and we want to continue that.”
There has been no further official detail yet on what the new sports franchises may be, but Jorgensen did put one rumor to rest by confirming that the NBA Live franchise has not been cancelled, as it has merely not been delivered for release on time.
