The video game BAFTA ceremony has honored a broad spectrum of games, from indie title Journey to big names including Far Cry 3 and Dishonored.
Dishonored received three nominations, taking the award for “Best Game” to beat out competition from the likes of Mass Effect 3 and The Walking Dead. Far Cry 3 also scored a solo victory – “Best Action” – but was up for six awards in total.
More dramatically, free-to-play sports career sim New Star Soccer was nominated in the “Sports/Fitness” category alongside a host of big-budget titles – including Fifa 2013, Trials Evolution and Forza Horizon - and took home the top prize.
The big success story of the night was, however, Journey, which took home 5 awards from 8 nominations. The runaway indie hit scored prizes in both audio categories, game design, art, and online multiplayer.
