Mainstream survival horror games are becoming more and more of a rarity these days. The Resident Evil and Dead Space series have all but pretty much gave up on their genres and have opted to add more guns, and the Condemned series is gone. But, I guess the man who created the Resident Evil series is a tired of watching Capcom run his once proud survival horror series into the dirt, so is now making a new survival horror game with Bethesda.

The new game is set for April 22nd of next year for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Not much is known about the game, but there is a two minute live action teaser below for your viewing pleasure. Although I don’t think ‘pleasure’ is the right word because it isn’t exactly PG.

“We’re incredibly proud to announce The Evil Within,” says Mikami. “My team and I are committed to creating an exciting new franchise, providing fans the perfect blend of horror and action.”

Will this combination of Mikami and Bethesda bring us the survival horror title the triple-A games department needs? I guess we will all have to wait til next year to find out.
