We all knew this day would come. After 15 something years of Pokemon games, Game Freak have finally run out of colors. Unlike the many previous games, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are the first games not to be named after two related colors. If you are wondering why they decided to go with X and Y, then you don’t have to think to hard because Satoru Iwata asked this same question during one of his Iwata Ask segments while talking with Game Freak’s director Junichi Masuda.
“The X and Y represent the x axis and the y axis,” Masuda said. “The world holds people with all sorts of ways of thinking, and you can get a sense that they exist in different dimensions. But if you think of them as people who think on the x axis and people who think on the y axis-horizontal and vertical axes-then they intersect somewhere.”
“We may think differently, but we all live on the same planet, so everyone eats, sleeps and goes about their business day after day just like everyone else,” he added.
Well, that is one burning question off my mind. Now, if only they could explain where I can go on Sundays to express my love for our lord and savior Arceus.
