Jarryd Bartle is a forensic science grad turned law student from Melbourne, Australia. His goal in life is to be a more attractive Stephen Fry. When not buried under text books he blogs at Sophist In Training about philosophy, science and politics. He also blogs at Future Criminals on his morbid obsession with crime and technology. He is possibly the most cynical liberal you will ever meet.

Crime fighter/watermelon enthusiast from merry old England. Armed with a degree in Criminology and philosophy and an obsessive passion for video games, I spend most of my time ranting about video games as art and my goal in life is to be a ponsey video game art critic and die while smelling my own farts and/or build a deathstar so I can obliterate all those who disagree with me.

g in Ottawa, Ontario, Nicholas Clement is an aspiring video game journalist. Currently finishing a communication studies degree at Carleton University, in his side time he enjoys nerding out about comic books, and ranting about video games. When not immersed in homework or video games, he often thinks about how awesome it would be to have a pet dinosaur (because lets be honest they are more fuel efficient then cars).

Elizabeth lives in Miami, where she spends her time reading Churchill for fun and getting thoroughly overexcited about the Romans. Between one too many Women’s Studies classes, a job in the SAT prep industry, and a brain that just won’t shut up, she’s chronically incapable of not analyzing everything to death.

Gaming since the tender age of 7, I still have the copy of my first ever Playstation game, fifteen years later. I am a student in Journalism, and am currently working on my second novel. Most defining moment of my life: playing MGS for the first time.

rles J. Johnson is an up and coming freelance writer with a love for video games, music and pretty much anything else that doesn’t impress women. He mostly works with console games and really, really likes Led Zeppelin. Almost a little too much.

My name is Matt Marchese and I’m a sports junkie! My love for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Raptors, Buffalo Bills and Liverpool Football Club runs deep, but man are they frustrating! So this shows that I’m committed anyway. I played Tier 2 Junior Hockey for 5 years, soccer at the Provincial level, and high school baseball. I’m an avid football fan and golf fan, and above all, a stats geek.

Born in Buffalo, the northeast edge of the rustbelt, Pure Sophistry’s latest contributing writer Thomas Nelson has exhausted almost two decades as an elitist PC gamer. His interests include history, writing, philosophy, politics and spending an obscene amount of time staring at a computer screen. He holds two degrees but is currently between colleges.

An Engl
ish Literature graduate sick to the back teeth of books, I have been gaming since I was old enough to walk and trip over the controller wires. I am also the proud owner of a “Throne of Games.”

Travis Pynenburg was born and raised in a small town bordering a larger town in New Hampshire. He has played video games since he was a wee lad, and has some opinionated thoughts about them and stuff. Originally aspiring to be a teacher, Travis recently decided to put his English Literature degree to better use by talking about games as art and other more important matters like that. Don’t worry, those kids will still manage to learn somehow.

My “area of expertise” is sports. I started playing lacrosse at age 3, and continue to this day, most recently playing in the Ontario Lacrosse League in the Junior B division with the Newmarket Saints and with the University of Guelph Gryphons who compete in the Canadian University Field Lacrosse League. I keep up on anything and everything sports.

Born in Maine, educated in Canada, and forged on the Internet, Jacob is a proud gamer, unabashed nerd, and writer. He received his degree in classics from Mount Allison University and his love of stories and their meaning from countless hours spent reading Homer, playing old school RPG’s and studying Joseph Cambell.
